Cleaning Your Engagement Ring at Home

The best, easiest, least expensive way to clean your engagement ring at home is to do the following:

  1. Remove your engagement ring from your hand
  2. Boil a small pot of water on your stove with about two tablespoons of dish soap
  3. Put a small strainer over the pot but allow the strainer to go into the water
  4. Gently place your engagement ring into the strainer
  5. Allow the ring to boil for a few moments
  6. Remove the strainer and gently dry your ring with a soft cloth

Now, this method is intended for gemstones that are very hard on the Mohs hardness scale and is NOT intended for softer gemstones like opals, rubies, or moonstones.
